Reebok has now built the second leg in its ambition tobuild a global sports licensing business with a brand that brings bothcounterseasonal and international dimensions. It also allows Reebok to leverageits existing infrastructure built for the NFL into an additive business andshould give the Licensed Unit more leverage with retailers in developingyear-round departments for licensed apparel.
The structure of the deal is this:
Starting with the 2001/2002 season, Reebok will pickup the 11 teams now serviced by Puma. Reebok will be on court the followingseason with another nine teams serviced by Champion.
