PUMA PROFIT FALLS, AS EXPECTED, ON MARKETING SPEND.


Income fell 65 per cent to DM 9.9 million ($5.6 mm)from DM 28.4 million last year for the quarter ended Mar. 31.Sales rose 13 per cent to DM 173.7 million ($98.1 mm) from DM153.6 million, with sneaker sales rising 9 per cent to DM 124.4million ($70.3 mm), apparel sales rising 27 per cent to DM 42.5million ($24.0 mm) and accessories sales gaining 11 per cent toDM 6.7 million ($3.8 mm).
