OIA WANTS QUOTA EXEMPTIONS CLARIFIED.


Representatives of W.L. Gore, Columbia Sportswear, VFOutdoor, Cabela’s and Cloudveil lobbied the Administration and Congress tobroaden the definition of ski and snowboard pants because a significantpercentage of OIA members say the present definition would not exempt their skipants from quotas. Last month, the U.S. agreed to exempt technical ski pantsfrom quotas in a memorandum of understanding with China on quotas.
