The trade group is more than pleased about theprovisions in the financial services reform bill passed by the U.S. Senate thatregulates debit card swipe fees and makes it easier for retailers to givediscounts to customers who don’t use credit cards. By requiring debit fees thatare proportional to actual costs, retailers will see their costs lowered andwill be able to pass on the savings through lower prices and greater value forthe customers, the National Retail Federation said.
