JUMBO WILL SHRINK FURTHER TO IMPROVE FINANCIAL POSITION.
The chain, operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, will shutter another 17 doors by May 1 and utilize an estimated $30 million in cash proceeds from the liquidations to lower long-term debt. The action, subject to court approval, will leave Jumbo with 42 units in 18 states and less than half its size a year ago when it operated 85 doors.
