In Q2, Gander reported a net loss of $10,381,000against a loss of $3,860,000 on 36% sales growth to $173,617,000 from$128,096,000. Gross margins were off 130 basis points to 23.4% in the periodended July 30 with 80 points of the decline due to the absence of a credit cardprogram and much of the remainder to higher distribution costs. Fishing had amoderately negative comp, and camping same store sales were off on weakassortments. Water sports showed strength, particularly in kayaks.
