Gander Mountain had a net loss of $7,559,000 against aloss of $10,381,000 for the seasaonally slow second quarter ended Jul. 29.Sales in the period rose 5% to $182,482,000 from $173,787,000, which included a6.7% comp store decrease. Gander said it generated more gross margin dollars inthe period as it was able to leverage its size and slightly improve its privatelabel mix, but the improvement was at least partially attributable to a 50%decline in advertising vs. the prior year.
