FOOTACTION OPERATING PROFIT RISES 9.9 PER CENT IN Q1.


The athletic specialty division of Footstarreported an operating profit of $8.9 million versus $8.1 millionlast year on a 6.9 per cent comp store sales gain. Total Footactionrevenues rose 20 per cent to $164.6 million against $137.7 millionfor the period ended Apr. 4. The company attributed the revenuegains to strong results from the Air Jordan, Team Jordan, runningshoes and apparel.
