The Eager Beavertons are tightening Z’s purchasingcapability on certain Nike marquee shoe launches for spring ’03 and beyond. ButFoot Locker doesn’t appear worried, saying the strength of other footwearbrands’ new products will help maintain its FY03 marquee shoe percentage (ofoverall sales) at historic levels. Additionally, Z is considering shaving itsNike marquee footwear purchases by another $150-250 million next year on top ofthe $100-115 million in cutbacks it has made this year, according to its latest10-Q filing.
