COO, NON-FAMILY MEMBER TAKES REINS OF L.L. BEAN.


Chris McCormick, an 18-year L.L.Bean veteran who was formerly SVP/CMO for the family-owned, ME-based business,becomes president and CEO. Leon A. Gorman, grandson of founder LeonLeonwood Bean and L.L. Bean’s president since his death in 1967, intends toremain active in the company as COB.

Connecticut native McCormick joined L.L. Bean in 1983as assistant advertising manager.
