BILLABONG REVENUES, PROFIT RISE DESPITE STRONGER AUSSIE DOLLAR.


Billabong reported sales up 6% to A$307.1 million(US$237.5 mm) and earnings up 12% to A$40.6 million (US$31.4 mm) for H1 endedDec. 31. Revenues rose 18% in constant currencies. Geographically, revenues increasedabout the same everywhere: Australasia and Japan were up 11% to A$103.4million; America rose 2% (27% in U.S. dollars) to A$128.4 million; Europeclimbed 7% (13% in constant currencies) to A$73.4 million; and Rest of theWorld went up 4% to A$1.3 million. Billabong spoke glowingly of developments insmaller markets, including South Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, Israel, Peru,Argentina and Turkey.
