Despite some momentum in the Salomon soft goodsbusiness and good results from Suunto and Precor, the heavy exposure in thewinter sports equipment market is expected to result in a decline from lastyear’s EBIT levels as a result of a loss in the winter sports divisions thathave experienced disappointing pre-orders this year. For the period ended Sep.30, Amer reported net income of €38.5 million this year ($54.7 mm) against€36.6 million last year on a sales decline of 2% to €462.8 million ($657.2 mm)from €471.9 million.
