ADIDAS Q3 NET RISES 17 PER CENT.


Income was DM 140 million ($94.67 mm) against DM120 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Revenues jumped35 per cent to DM 1,472 million ($984.9 mm) from DM 1,094 millionas apparel sales surged 46 per cent and footwear revenues gained24 per cent. North America net sales rose 44 per cent to DM 314million ($210.1 mm) from DM 218 million. Backlog, for orders scheduledfor delivery from October through March 1997, was up 30 per centfrom the prior year.
