Adversely impacted by the rise of the U.S.dollar and the ills of the German and Japanese economies, U.S.manufacturers broke a string of four consecutive years ofdouble-digit growth in exports. Last year, according to figurescompiled by the SGMA, fishing tackle, golf clubs and tennisequipment posted the biggest gains. With demand in Korea andTaiwan down, exports of non-leather athletic footwear recordedthe biggest percentage drop.
